TRPWS organized a talk show titled Taalbaaz on 24th May and our guest for this show was Mr. Yogesh Bir Singh. He’s a great musician who’s skilled at playing a lot of instruments, be it tabla, dholak or djembe. Yogesh sir has performed in various cultural events throughout the country and even abroad. This melodious night began with an insight into Yogesh’s musical journey. He played instruments in his school choir, but at that time, he had no idea that he’d become a performing artist one day. He realized his love for music when during his college days, he got to play the dhol in a live performance with a friend. The feeling of performing on the stage and the audience’s love arose in him this passion for playing musical instruments and then he was unstoppable. This session was viewed live by around 1,100 people who kept pouring in love and their requests for songs in their comments. Avleen Ma’am, the host for this show played very interesting games, wherein our guest was asked to play different songs on different instruments. The audience thoroughly enjoyed the Desi beats of some trending Punjabi songs being played live by our Talbaaz. The songs of Amy Virk, Sidhu Moose Wala, and Manindra were played in the background while he tapped his dholak, dafli, and djembe and this performance was really enthralling. On public demand, he even played the classic Babbu Maan songs. We couldn’t stop ourselves from tapping our feet while listening to these melodies. And what stole people’s hearts was the qawwali – “dil galti kar betha hai” which was the icing on the cake. It was truly a delight to watch him passionately play those wonderful instruments so excellently. The charm, and smile on his face while he tapped his fingers so skillfully on the musical instrument was a sight to behold and those mesmerizing melodies were a treat to the ears. We entered a different world altogether, and our minds just got engrossed in the beats of his tabla. The event climaxed with his performance on “ Aacha chalta hoon, duaon mein yaad rakhna” which was again a really heartwarming song. Yogesh Sir also shared his memories of performing for the kids of TRPWS and teaching them the nuances of playing musical instruments. The TRPWS family is grateful to the Talbaaz for his valuable time and for his enchanting performance.
