Bhangra Night with Kunwar Saheb Singh
TRPWS presented a talk show on 31st May with Kunwar Saheb Singh, the bhangra king. This live session viewed by around 400 people live was truly a spectacular one. After all, who wouldn’t fall in love with cool bhangra steps and Desi beats. This show was hosted by Avleen Ma’am who presented the audience’s questions and requests to our very charming guest and played some really interesting games with Kunwar.
Kunwar Saheb Singh is the co – founder of Folking Desi Bhangra Group, which presents this Punjabi artform at various platforms, live and through their social media handles on YouTube and Instagram, where you can also find Bhangra tutorials. This interactive session gave an insight into Kunwar’s journey with this folk dance. Although he’s doing a full time job, but despite the busy schedule he finds out time for his passion. He remarked that when you love something, you don’t find excuses to not do it and you manage to find time for your dreams. His supportive family, helped him pursue his passion and his dedication and love for Bhangra is really inspiring.
During this session, he not just talked but got the audience up on their feet to dance out the feelings of their hearts. We learnt the simple and yet the classic bhangra steps like “ single choomar” and “phull Punjab”.

It was such a delight to watch Kunwar Saheb Singh perform live for us and to learn Bhangra during this lockdown period. Our audience constantly kept pouring their love and requests for Kunwar in the comments. At the end of this session, Kunwar shared the experience he had with the kids a t TRPWS. He remarked that he really enjoyed performing for those kids and the innocent smiles on their faces was the best reward he had ever got. He thanked TRPWS for inviting him and looked forward to perform for TRPWS once the lockdown gets over. This Bhangra night was really enthralling and indeed a memorable one.
